New Family Members

Sunday, August 3rd.

We surprised the kids by taking them to Safe Haven Humane Society. I have taken them there several times to see the animals, check on what donated items are needed, and dream about having a pet of their own. This time, it was no dream. Dad came with us, me with the camera, and after looking at all the dogs, we went into the Kitty room, and told them it was time for them to each pick a kitten. I couldn't be happier with their choices! A boy for Tristan and a girl for Shelby, brother and sister as well. We have two healthy happy additions to our family, with all of us taking turns on the 'box cleaning duty' extricating kitty claws from Mama's lace curtains and watching them screech and skid from one end of the house (the part they're allowed in, anyway!) to the other. It is truly a joy to experience them, as well as Shelby & Tristan's excitement at having them here.

How cool for everyone. We, too, have a brother/sister kitty situation in our home. Mine, an Orange Tiger, Mary's is a Black Tortoise Shell. Rascal is mine, lives up to his name, and Dusty is our fluffy little dust mop. They are a delight, and add hours of enjoyment with their purrrrs and attention.
We also have two other house cats, a Rag Doll named Misty, who is Sealpoint colored with Blue eyes, and Tuxedo, and Black & White "Domestic" who was a feral cat we 'inherited'. She was to be given away but the recipient changed his mind. We had her neutered, and she is now my cat, and loves to romp across us about 2:30 in the morning, then comesback at 5:30am to make sure we are awake, and get up. She has a squeaky little meow, which causes me to call her "Squeaky" at times.
We love all four of our cats, and each one has its own personality, just like children do.
Thanks for the notice of your "Blog"...I'll try to keep up with you !!
Love forever...
Unca Beel.
